Today I went to an antique store on my thanksgiving trip

Today was such a fun day on my Thanksgiving trip with my family to Nebraska. We decided to stop by an antique store, one of my favorite places to explore. I love looking at all the old, unique things that someone used to own.
While I was walking around the store, I saw something that made me think of my girlfriend right away. It was a pretty vintage ring—simple but gorgeous. My girlfriend wasn’t able to come on this trip and had to stay home, so I thought this would be a nice surprise for her. I can already imagine her smile when she sees it.
After we left the antique store, we found a little shop that sold nothing but licorice. It was amazing! The moment we walked in, the smell of sweet candy filled the air. They had a tone of flavors and some very strong black liqorice which I’ll never try. I picked out a mixed bag one, to take home, thinking it would be fun to try them all with my girlfriend later.
This trip reminded me how much fun it is to explore new places. Even small things like finding a thoughtful gift or picking out candy can make a trip feel special. I’m so ready to sleep in my own bed and go back home and share the licorice, which I’ve eaten most of. And the ring with my girlfriend, as I think it’ll be a sweet way to end this trip.
