Today was full of new things, and it turned out to be a bit exhausting when you go over to your family all day and don’t know how to talk to your family! It started with me trying rum cake for the first time. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was rich and strong but overpowering in the alcohol taste. It was super sweet and rich, and honestly, I’m not sure if I liked it it was a nice chocolate fruit cake but it was too strong.
After that, I spent some time playing the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 game. It’s buggy but how would a game made by Ukraine devs in Ukraine make a game in warfare? The world in it is filled with ugly mutants and regular joes in post-apocalyptic Ukraine in a place called the zone. It was a great way to relax before heading to my uncle’s house later in the day.
At my uncle’s, I tried real alcohol for the first time; it was champagne but it was just gross. I thought it might be sweet and bubbly, but nope, to me it tasted like “sad green olives that are bitter.” It wasn’t what I expected, and I wouldn’t say I liked it. At least now I know champagne isn’t for me.
Even though some of the things I tried today weren’t my favorite, it was fun to experience something new, but alcohol is just dumb.
